| If You Find a Lost Pet |
So, you found a dog or cat who appears to be lost, what do you do?
First, always approach any dog (or cat) you do not know with caution. It’s probably scared and could even be injured.
If the pet is wearing a collar, be sure to check for identification tags and call the owner.
If the pet is not wearing a collar you have several options:
- You can take it to a veterinary office or animal shelter to have it scanned for an ID chip.
If the animal has been microchipped, this will give you the owner’s information.
- In the Park City area, check with the local radio station, www.kpcw.org,
to see if anyone has posted a 'lost pet' notice that matches the description of the pet you've found.
- Call Animal Control in the county you found the pet in: Summit County- 435-615-3985, Wasatch County 435-654-3040.

animal control offices in Utah counties.
- Please note, Furburbia cannot accept found animals. They must first be relinquished to the
animal control office in the county where they were found. We do however have a microchip scanner
and are happy to scan an animal for you.
