We learned a great deal in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. And perhaps the biggest lesson: a person should never have to choose between their own safety and the safety of their pet.
With that in mind, the Friends of Animals new rescue and rehabilitation facility is designed to become “ground zero” in the event FOA is asked to care for a large number of animals unexpectedly. Our huge indoor multi purpose room will be a safe haven for animals in the event of a natural disaster.
Additionally, should a puppy mill be discovered and shut down, or an animal hoarding case come to our attention, those pets will have a protection in this area.
